Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The 2026 legislative session is now in the rearview mirror, and we are heading into an election year. That means I won’t be able to communicate using state resources for the next six-plus months. However, I wanted to say thank you one more time for putting your trust in me to serve you in the 17th District.
Even though the 2026 session is now behind us, I wanted to remind you once more about some of the significant things that happened during those 60 days.
For an in-depth recap of the biggest stories this session, please see my end-of-session update, and for a recap of Republican priorities for the 2026 session, click here. You can also read my end-of-session newsletter online by clicking here.
We passed some good policies that will do positive things in Washington. However, there were also some bad polices passed by the majority party – including the decision to pass the first-ever state income tax – and several other missed opportunities to enact good legislation. As we head into the interim, there is much work to be done as we try to fix Washington.
That’s why I’ll be busy throughout the interim working to make our state a better place to live for all Washingtonians.

Election-year Restrictions
Due to election-year restrictions that begin on May 4, I will not be able to send you email updates until after the November general election results are certified. In fact, all my legislative communications will be limited or restricted over the next six months in compliance with state ethics laws. The exception would be if a special session is called.
That said, I am still your full-time state representative and can respond to constituents who contact me throughout the year. I invite you to email, call, or send me a letter anytime, and I will respond as quickly as possible.
